Reading skills in boys and girls: Results from IGLU 2016

Do boys read less well than girls? If so, are there differences in reading literacy by text genre and can motivational reading characteristics provide a possible explanation? This paper provides an overview of the latest findings from the Large-Scale International Primary School Reading Survey (IGLU/PIRLS) of 2016 on differences between boys and girls in reading literacy and motivational aspects of reading.
