Deputy Professor PD Dr. Gaspard deals with heterogeneity in the development of learning and achievement motivation in school contexts as well as factors influencing this development. Moreover, she studies effects of heterogeneity in learning and achievement motivation on learning behavior as well as educational and career trajectories. In addition, she researches interventions to promote motivation as a way to especially enable students from disadvantaged groups to realize their potential and minimize educational disparities. To answer these research questions, she uses a variety of quantitative research methods, with a focus on randomized controlled intervention studies in the school context.
