The working group examines opportunities and challenges relating to cultural diversity in schools. One major focus is on the individual learning conditions of children and adolescents with an immigrant and refugee background for their school adaptation. For instance, how do language skills, academic competencies and cultural identity affect their school success and psychological adaptation? The group also focuses on the effects of the learning context (e.g., teacher beliefs, school climate, structural school factors) on the school adaptation of students with and without immigrant background.
